The participant/s must be a resident of India and above the age of 18yrs and below the age of 35 years as on the 1st of September 2010.

All decisions of the contest judges, and organizers shall be final and binding on all matters relating to this contest and cannot be contested or challenged by any participant or affiliate alike.

The participant/s confirms that the designs submitted must be original and emanate from the participant/s themselves. The copy of designs from other sources is not allowed. Any form of copy will lead to immediate disqualification. The participant/s shall indemnify and hold harmless Home Review DesignMile, Marvel Infomedia Pvt. Ltd. & Home Review and the contest sponsors in case of any third party claims.
The participant/s must also have obtained all necessary and requisite approvals and permissions from third parties/associates/clients to enter their creations.
A prototype or manufactured piece of the entry is a pre-requisite for a valid entry for the DesignMile. This should be available prior to an entry being submitted online. You however do not require a prototype for entries in the FutureBuild category. You can enter multiple products in each category, however only a single spot per designer will be finally allocated during the DesignMile where their nominated product will be on display. You can group product series (for example crockery, cutlery, etc.) and submit it as one entry. By contrast, in the case of product ranges (for example a kitchen faucet and a bath faucet from the same design line) the products have to be registered separately.
By entering this contest, entrants consent to the use of their entry, name, contact information, city of residence and / or any photograph of or that may be taken in publicity carried out by the contest sponsor(s), their advertising agencies and / or Home Review, Marvel Infomedia Pvt. Ltd. without further notice or compensation.
All copyright of original prototypes, entries, drawings, sketches, works of art, publications, and other produced and designed data and material that has been consensually submitted by an entrant will be at all times retained by the entrant/constituted authority themselves. However, the entrant/constituted authority by entering this contest will automatically grant Home Review DesignMile, Marvel Infomedia Pvt. Ltd. & Home Review unrestricted and free user rights in respect of promotion, publication, display, press and advertising activities in the context of the event and their submissions. No liability whatsoever, not even third party claims, can be assumed by the organizers. No photographs credits or compensation for photographs submitted will be provided by the organisers. The winning submissions nominated for the DesignMile week will be required for exhibition purposes and will subsequently be returned to its creator.
There are no substitutions for prizes. In the event that a prize becomes unavailable due to any reason, the organizers are not liable for any substitution or compensation to any participant. Prizes are not redeemable for cash. Prizes are not transferable. Prizes cannot be carried forward to any future editions of this or any other contest. In the event of a submission that has been created by a team of 2 or more individuals wins a prize, the credits will be awarded to the entire team, however only a single representative of the team will be hosted during the DesignMile week and will be eligible for the Grand Prize.
Entry to the DesignMile is free. Travel costs to the maximum of Rs. 5,000/- per nominee to the DesignMile week will be reimbursed against proof of actual costs incurred. Free hotel stay for the nominees of the DesignMile week will be arranged in Mumbai. The Grand Prize winners who will travel to Europe will be provided free travel, stay and admissions to the various activities arranged.
Winners agree that all prizes are being provided 'as is,' and Home Review DesignMile, Marvel Infomedia Pvt. Ltd. and Home Review makes no warranty, representation or guarantee regarding any prize, including but not limited to its quality, condition, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
Further, the organizers thereby undertake no responsibility or liability for the non-performance or under performance of any implied warranty, representation or guarantee regarding any prize, including but not limited to its quality, condition, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. The organizers further indemnify themselves from any loss, injury or damage (including but not limited to physical, mental, spiritual, emotional, psychological) suffered by any individual associated with the contest as a result of the non performance or under performance of any such prize or its relative circumstance.
Declaration and distribution of the prizes lies at the sole discretion of the organizers and all decisions and judgements passed by the management team are final and binding. No such judgement can be contested, challenged or competed with under form of recognized jurisdiction any by participant.

DesignMile week is the grand finale to the DesignMile contest. It will be a first-of-its- kind 'festival of Product Design' in India where great ideas are celebrated. For one week a buzzing suburb of Mumbai will turn into a design hub. Participating bars, cafes and restaurants around a one mile radius will serve as pit-stops for those seeking out new and exceptional design ideas.
For the 10 nominees selected to showcase their creations at the DesignMile week this will be an opportunity to be part of something very special: 7 days of pure design indulgence. The nominees will get to connect and network with people from the design fraternity and trade who will be special invitees to the DesignMile week. They will also interface with end consumers, get real feedback on their work and revel in the accolades. The event is likely to be covered extensively by the media, and a spot on the 1 mile circuit gives each of the nominees a chance to get well and truly noticed.
